High ceilings and thick internal walls keep Penguin Place cool in summer and warm in winter and the oregon floors are easy on the eye.
We are 500 meters from Seaforth beach. A 1-k coastal walk takes you to Boulders Beach with its famous penguins, while the town centre is 5 minutes' drive and Cape Point is only 20 minutes away by car.
The house is easily accessible to wheelchairs, baby buggies and people with walking difficulties - there are only 3 or 4 steps from the road to the entrance and, once inside, it is all on one level.
Sip your evening glass of wine on our large, covered, glassed-in stoep while you watch the moon rise and the lights in Bay sparkling like a necklace of jewels in the water. There is a table for 8, two divans and a separate seating area with two two-seater sofas.
The living room also has a table for 8 and plenty of seating round the fireplace. There are two double bedrooms with twin beds, both with sea views; a smaller room with double bunks and a shower/loo leads onto one of two terraces; main bathroom; a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, AEG double eye-level oven and a washing machine. A shady terrace, covered by a spreading ficus tree, looks out across the Bay.
Parking is easy - the garage gives covered access to the house and there is also off-street parking.
You can walk, swim, surf, scuba dive, canoe, play golf - or build sandcastles with the children, watching the penguins. The choices are endless and they are all yours.
